Batman Yellow Lantern Ver. 2 papercraft
The Sinestro Corps, also known as the Yellow Lantern Corps, is a supervillainous analog to the Green Lantern Corps in the DC Universe. Their power is derived from the emotional electromagnetic spectrum of fear; the corps is led by the supervillain Sinestro.
Why is Batman not a Yellow Lantern?
When Sinestro was first forming his Sinestro Corps, the ring assigned to Sector 2814 flew directly to Bruce Wayne.
He rejected it.
Quite a trick, considering that Sinestro's rings were not asking for permission or acceptance.
To be fair, the ring rejected Bruce as well (after he was already trying to remove it). His prior exposure to a Green Ring, which exemplified his own tendency towards Will over Fear, disqualified him from Sinestro Corps membership.
Good thing, too. Bruce Wayne wants to strike fear into criminals only. He does not want to use fear to rule.
A Batman that gave himself to the Sinestro Corps mission would easily unbalance Sector 2814, and Bruce would probably find himself at war with both the Green Lanterns and a very jealous Sinestro at the same time.
