Michael "Mike" Peterson is a man who was recruited into the Centipede Project as a test subject by Raina, who promised to cure his injuries and enhance his powers through the use of Centipede Serum. When he compromised the secrecy of the project, they decided to eliminate him, but were stopped by S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, led by Phil Coulson. Some time later, Peterson decided to join S.H.I.E.L.D. as a field agent and worked closely with Coulson's Team. Peterson was later recaptured by the Centipede Project, and transformed into a cyborg, as a part of the Project Deathlok. He was used by the Clairvoyant to throw people off his trail, including Coulson's team.
