She had no clue about the history of her vastaya tribe—or their position relative to other tribes—except for a pair of gems she had carried with her throughout her life. In fact, her first memories are of a pack of snow foxes in the northern Shon-Xan region. Even though they weren't one of them, they still saw in her a little bit of the spirit of their kind, and accepted her into the pack.
