Popis is a recurring character in the series, "El Chavo". She was performed, like her aunt Florinda, by actress Florinda Meza. In the Animated Chavo, she was dubbed by Erica Edwards, the same one who doubled her aunt.
La Popis is the cousin of Quico, niece of Doña Florinda and romantic interest of Ñoño (in the original series). He replaced Quico in later years, in situations similar to those of the absent character, and even lives with his aunt Florinda at No. 14. In the animated series, she was in love with Chavo and not Ñoño. This is because, in that series, she replaced Chilindrina with copyright issues; and, because Chilindrina was in love with Chavo, the Popis needed a personality change, though only for that series. Popis was performed, like her aunt Florinda, by actress Florinda Meza. In the Animated Chavo, she was dubbed by Erika Edwards, the same one who doubled her aunt. The character gained importance after the departure of Carlos Villagrán in 1978, and even more so in the program Chespirito.
