Well-known as a professor (es. ElProfesor), Sergio Marquina is one of the main characters in the Netflix series Money Heist, played by actor Alvaro Morte.
He was the responsible mastermind in organizing the assault on Royal Mintha, Spain, and later directed the first planned assault on the Bank of Spain by Berlin. Professor had planned a robbery from an early age. At the age of 19, he stopped renewing his ID card to prevent him from registering. Professor recruited eight robbers to carry out the assault on Royal Mintha, Spain, which was planned by his father. Salvador "Salva" Under Martin's identity, he managed to approach Raquel Murillo, the chief inspector of the Royal Mint robbery, and the two eventually fell in love. After that, Raquel joins the gang under the name "Lisbon". Professor carried out a second robbery at the Bank of Spain to put pressure on the Spanish government that arrested Rio. This was a robbery planned by him and his half-brother Berlin many years ago. In Part 5, the professor was captured and tortured by Alicia Sierra. In the end, she also captures Marseille and Benjamin Martinez. But when Alicia gives birth and has complications, she has no choice but to solve them so that they can help give birth to a baby. Professor and Alicia will work together. When police chase them, they hide in an empty apartment. Later, Alicia helps find the location of the stolen gold.
Sergio is a very well-conditioned man with a mustache and beard. His hair is long and black, in Part 3 he cuts it a little shorter. You can see that the walk is a little confusing because he doesn't shake his arm while walking. He is rarely seen without a formal suit, coat and tie, but he is also seen in various disguise to avoid police detection. Homeless drug addicts and clowns. Sergio is very intelligent and meticulous. After planning it for a few years, he seems very determined to stop the biggest money robbery in history. When he hires his dream team, he meticulously forces everyone to follow a strict schedule with basic rules for setting up and executing robbers. His perfectionist attitude is evident from careful consideration and planning of all possible scenarios that can occur during a robbery. This future-oriented approach helps him pursue perfection and encourages the team to stick to the plan in all situations. Professor appears to have extraordinary knowledge of bargaining tactics, police strategy, weapons, law enforcement, hostage crisis mitigation, counterfeiting, theft, and bank robbery. Having control over the entire robbery from behind the scenes, he tossed the police and always let them do exactly what he wanted to do. He also shows a deep understanding of human psychology. Much of his plans rely heavily on his predictions from police, government and the general public. This allows him to play an exciting game of superiority with Raquel Murillo. In this game, despite the overwhelming odds, you can change the status quo in your team's favor.
His gentle attitude complements his innate leadership qualities and makes it possible to resolve team conflicts without fuss. In addition, team members are very confident in his planning and decision-making abilities. This respects the protocol of waiting 24 hours for his phone before the team activates "Pran Chernobyl", despite clear evidence on television of his imminent imprisonment hours before the deadline. It will become clear when you decide to do so. They do this because they have great respect for his intellect and believe he will do everything with his power to save the team from the crisis.
Sergio also considers himself a strategist, like a chess player who must carefully calculate each move before reaching a conclusion. This allows him to make important decisions in a very short amount of time if things go wrong. He may be a seasoned martial artist, as he easily conquers Alberto and Raquel in various situations. He has been shown to be practicing boxing and undergoing intense physical training in his hideout.
Despite planning the largest robbery in human history, the professor adheres to strict moral principles. He refrains from killing Raquel's mother, even if it seems to be the only way to survive the robbery. He argues that bloodshed is not the most important rule of robbery. However, it is unclear whether this is simply due to public opinion or a moral point of view. He also starts raid classes with the "no relationship" rule, but shows great compassion and affection for his teammates.
