The premiere of Iron Man's Marvel Comics in Tales of Suspense #39 (March 1963) was a collaboration between editor and story writer Stan Lee, screenwriter Larry Lieber, story writer Don Heck, and writer Don Heck. Cover art and character designer Jack Kirby. In 1963, Lee challenged the idea of an entrepreneurial superhero. He wanted to create the "quintessential capitalist," a character that went against the spirit of the times and Marvel's audience.
